It’s recommended that the Open circuit voltages (OCV) of the battery are checked prior to shipment. In case the OCV is below 2.14V per cell or 12.8V for a 12V monoblock, it should be charged prior to shipment so that it reaches the customer site fully charged.
Check external condition of carbon. If any damage is visible, open the carbon and check battery for any damages, cracks, or visible signs of any acid leakage etc.
If the batteries are to be connected in a string to the same device, ensure batteries are from same batch.
